Cheese & Onion Zucchini Scones
Take your Halo & Swoon savoury scones up a notch with this delicious recipe for gluten free cheese & onion scones, boosted with the goodness of zucchini!
We love adding extra veggies to our recipes wherever we can, and this savoury scone recipe is the perfect example. Simply add chopped red onion and grated zucchini to your Halo & Swoon cheese scone mix to create a delicious and nutritious savoury scone.
You can use any kind of cheese in this recipe, from grated cheddar to crumbled feta, or even your favourite plant based/vegan variety.
Serve these cheese & onion zucchini scones warm with a slice of your favourite butter, and any leftovers are delicious toasted under the grill the next day.

Cheese & Onion Zucchini Scones
Serves: 8
Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 30 to 35 minutes
1 cup grated cheese
1/2 cup grated zucchini
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1 cup milk, room temperature
2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted
Preheat oven to 200°C fan bake and line a baking tray.
Place scone mix in a bowl, add cheese, zucchini and onion and stir well. Add milk and coconut oil, and mix into a dough.
Sprinkle gluten free flour onto lined tray, turn out dough and shape into 8 scones.
Sprinkle a little extra cheese over the tops, then bake in centre of oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Scones are done when cheese on top is melted and golden.
Serve scones warm with your favourite butter. Any remaining scones can be stored in a cool dry place for up to 3 days.
To reheat, cut in half and put until the grill for 5 minutes.
