Chocolate Fruit Mince Pies

Adding fruit mince to Halo & Swoon's Chocolate Cake mix creates the sweetest little Chocolate Fruit mince pies - a delicious alternative to traditional fruit mince pies.

These little chocolate pies are a delicious gluten-free, plant-based alternative to traditional Christmas fruit mince pies. Simply mix up a batch of chocolate cake and fill 12 cupcake holes half full. Add a spoonful of fruit mince, top with remaining cake mix and bake.

Serve these cute little pies as morning or afternoon tea, or as dessert with your favourite whipped cream or ice cream.

Chocolate Fruit Mince Pies

Serves: 12
Prep time: 20 minutes Cook time: 35 minutes

1 Halo & Swoon Chocolate Cake

1 1/4 cup (315g) plant milk, at room temperature

1/2 cup (110g) coconut oil, melted

1/2 cup fruit mince

To decorate:

icing sugar for dusting


1. Preheat oven to 150°C fan bake and either link a cupcake pan with paper liners or use silicone cupcake moulds.

2. Place chocolate cake mix in a bowl, add milk and coconut oil, then stir with a whisk until smooth.

3. Fill the cupcake holes half full with Chocolate Cake mix.

4. Add a teaspoonful of fruit mince to the centre of each pie, and top with remaining cake mix.

4. Bake chocolate pies in the centre of the oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until the tops are set.

5. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

6. Dust with icing sugar and serve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
