Spice up snack time by adding Mexican spice to Halo & Swoon's Seeded Crackers mix and enjoy these gluten-free vegan crackers with your favourite guacamole!

This recipe is for all the spice lovers out there! Adding Mexican spices to our organic Seeded Crackers baking mix turns these delicious seed crackers into a fiesta in your mouth.

You can use any Mexican spices or spice mix of your choosing, and how much you add is entirely up to you. The recipe below creates a mild to medium spiced cracker, but this will also depend on the heat of the spices you're using. If you like them really hot then by all means add more spice.

Enjoy these spicy seed crackers on their own, served with fresh salsa, or as dippers for your favourite guacamole.

Mexican Spice Seeded Crackers

Serves: 32

Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 25 minutes

1 Halo & Swoon Seeded Crackers mix

3/4 cup + 1 Tbsp (200g water)

1/4 cup (50g) olive oil

1 Tbsp Mexican spice (any Mexican spice works, we like Tio Pablo)

Preheat oven to 180°C fan bake (200°C conventional), and line 2 baking sheets with paper or mats.

Pour mix into a bowl, add your Mexican spice and stir well.

Add water and oil and mix until it comes together.

Divide the mix between the two baking trays.

Roll each mix out between 2 sheets of paper until it’s approximately the thickness of the seeds.

Use a large knife to mark into crackers, then leave to sit at room temperature for a minimum 30 minutes to allow rice flour to absorb the water (this creates smooth crackers).

Place trays in centre of oven to bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Remove crackers from oven, allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
