we believe in providing delicious, plant-based, allergy-friendly baking mixes that can be enjoyed by all.
Co-founders, José and Sarah, came together with a shared vision of providing healthy, allergy-friendly baking mixes that don't compromise on taste.
José was originally a medical research scientist who followed her lifelong passion for all things sweet to become a pastry chef. From there, she worked as a recipe developer and food stylist/photographer, while developing her healthy recipe blog, Swoon Food.
A dairy allergy combined with a gluten intolerance (and eventually a move to plant-based eating) made it impossible for José to continue to enjoy regular baking and desserts. This inspired her to begin recreating all her favourite recipes in a healthier, more nutritious form, while ensuring they still tasted as good as the originals.
Sarah, on the other hand, was a lawyer and a busy mum, who didn’t have the skills or the time to bake! With a child who has severe allergies, finding tasty healthy snacks that she could trust, was hard. Frustrated by the lack of options, Sarah turned to José, and it was a chance conversation over a couple of wines that ultimately led to the creation of Halo & Swoon.
We are passionate about food and bringing people together through baking - creating healthy, delicious food that everyone can enjoy.
Life is busy, so our easy-to-bake plant-based mixes work every time. Trust us - our co-founder (the non-baker of the business) has made them all - without fail!
