Date, Cinnamon & Orange Scones

Turn your Halo & Swoon Scone Dough into these amazing gluten-free date, cinnamon and orange scones, with this easy recipe using a secret ingredient!

These date scones are so good we're willing to bet you'll always make your sweet scones with this secret ingredient from now on - the ingredient being orange marmalade!

Marmalade gives these sweet scones a delicate citrus flavour which combines beautifully with dates and cinnamon.

Serve these delicious date, cinnamon and orange scones warm, with a slice of your favourite butter or spread (or more marmalade!). Any leftovers are delicious toasted under the grill the next day. 

 

Date, Cinnamon & Orange Scones

Serves: 8

Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes

1 Halo & Swoon Scone Dough

1 cup chopped dates

2 tsp cinnamon

1/3 cup marmalade

1 cup plant milk, room temperature

2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted

gluten-free flour for dusting

 

Preheat oven to 200°C fan bake and line a baking tray.

Place scone mix in a bowl, add dates and cinnamon and stir well.

Add marmalade, milk and coconut oil, and mix into a dough.

Sprinkle gluten-free flour onto the lined tray and turn out the dough. Sprinkle over a little more flour and shape into 8 scones.

Bake Scones in the centre of the oven for 20 minutes. Scones are done when the edges have turned golden.

Serve scones warm with your favourite spread.

Any leftover scones can be stored in a cool dry place for up to 3 days.

To reheat, cut in half and place until the grill for 5 minutes, or microwave for 30 seconds.
